Dr. Ma will be returning to Johnson City after 5 years to perform the Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos on September 30. She’ll be performing alongside with American renowned pianist Katherine Benson.

Dr. Ma was invited to play a solo recital for the Evelyn Miller Young Pianist Series and to give a master class to local piano students. Since YPS’s beginning, more than 110 concert pianists from all over the world have performed on this unique series, including Robert McDonald, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Jonathan Biss and more.

Dr. Ma was invited to give a master class at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. The master class features four piano major students from second-year graduate students to freshman.

Dr. Ma’s solo digital album “From Schumann, With Love” is released on March 11th, 2022 on major streaming platforms such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Play, as well as TikTok and Instagram Music Library. The album features live performances of two of Robert Schumann’s most loved piano solo pieces - Kreisleriana, Op. 16 and Fantasy in C Major, Op. 17.

Dr. Ma is honored to be working with composer Michael Colina and will be recording and world premiering his Piano Concerto this year. The recording and performance will take place in Tampa, Florida with The Florida Orchestra conducted by Daniel Black.

This summer, Dr. Ma will be on faculty of Concordia University Irvine’s Summer Chamber Music Festival. She will teach piano lessons as well as give chamber coaching. Dr. Ma will also be presented in the faculty chamber recital on June 30, 2021.

The AMF provides students with access from all over the world to study with world class musicians, such as Dr. Yi-Yang Chen (Assistant Professor at University of Kansas), Tanya Gabrielian (Chair of the Piano Department at Boston University) and Steven Lin (Winner of Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition).
